Parking at Ballet Austin
SOME PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE LOTS on both the east and west sides of the building (3rd and San Antonio and 3rd and Nueces) and along the back side of the building.
- These lots are reserved for any Ballet Austin student or patron who will be remaining in the Butler Dance Education Center.
- Please do not park in the spaces marked handicapped unless you have the proper permit.
CURBSIDE PARKING NEAR BALLET AUSTIN: Marked metered spaces are located on San Antonio, Nueces, 3rd and 4th streets, as well as other nearby streets.
- Metered Parking: For the most up to date information on parking meter hours, please visit the City of Austin.
FREE PARKING AT CITY HALL: Ballet Austin validates parking in the parking garage underneath Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street. The garage entrance to the City Hall parking garage is located on the East side of the building on Lavaca Street (one way street running North). Enter the garage from the left lane and follow the signs to visitor parking.
- Weekdays - Up to 2 hours can be validated at Ballet Austin on weekdays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Stop at the desk in the front lobby at Ballet Austin for parking validation.
- Free parking without validation is available on Saturdays and Sundays until 5:00 pm. (After 5:00 pm on weekends the flat rate is $5.00)
PAID GARAGE AND LOT PARKING NEAR BALLET AUSTIN: There are several downtown area lots and garages where the public can pay to park when visiting the downtown area.
- The State Parking Garage, garage "N", located on San Antonio St. between 3rd and 4th St. (directly across the street from Ballet Austin to the north) will offer a flat rate of $3 to Ballet Austin patrons Monday through Friday, 5:00pm to 10:00pm. It is closed to the public during normal State business hours. To take advantage of this preferred rate while you are at Ballet Austin, stop at the Reception desk in the lobby to pick up a pass for your dash. Display you pass when entering the garage Monday through Friday between 5:00pm and 10:00pm and pay the attendant $3. (cash only)
The current passes expire March 9, 2012. At that time you may be issued another pass.
- City Hall Garage is open for public use every day from 5:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. and offers paid public parking to the public in the evenings after 5:00 pm (Ballet Austin validates during daytime hours. See above) After 5:00 pm on weekdays when validation is not in effect, the first 30 minutes is free and then there is an hourly rate.
BUSES: Austin's Central Business District has access to the best bus service in Central Texas. Most individual rides are $1.00 (bus drivers cannot make change). You can find more information on fares and passes, including bulk and unlimited ride rates, by visiting the Capital Metro website. You can purchase monthly passes and fare cards, and pick up free bus schedules and route maps at the Capital Metro Transit Store, located at 323 Congress Ave. Schedules are also available online at www.capmetro.org.
