The Theater Experience
A theater arts camp for performers ages 8-13.
This two-week camp allows participants to delve into the musical process.
In addition to preparing for performance; campers contribute through dance composition, set design and costuming.
This two-week session concludes with a performance for family and friends in Ballet Austin's AustinVentures StudioTheater.
Tweeter's Jungle Mystery

The Theater Experience will offer…
- Producing and performing in Tweeter's Jungle Mystery, original music and story by Billy and Joan Wolfe.
- Great performance opportunity for singers, actors and dancers – No previous experience required.
- Additional classes and choreography by Danny Herman and Rocker Verastique.
- Hands on exploration of the behind the scenes preparation and production of live theater with Ballet Austin staff including production director, Bill Sheffield and director of schools, Bill Piner among others.
- Classes held at Ballet Austin's Butler Dance Education Center.
- An end of session performance held for family and friends on stage in the state of the art AustinVentures StudioTheater located in the Butler Dance Education Center at 501 W. 3 rd St.
- The AustinVentures StudioTheater will be featured prominently in this workshop.
Policies and Procedures:
Afternoons ~ Drop-off between 12:45 and 1:00 pm. Pick-up promptly at 4:00 pm.
Snack: Snack will not be provided by Ballet Austin. Parents are encouraged to send a small snack from home.
Dress Requirements: Play clothes.
Dance attire optional.

Performing Arts Camp for Kids (morning sessions, ages 4-8) Joan and Billy Wolfe's creative hands-on performing and fine arts camp. Each week the students are immersed in creative movement, drama, storytelling, music, singing, painting and collage, all integrated through a common dramatic theme. Each week concludes with an informal mini-performance for family and friends.

Dance Discoveries (ages 5-10) is designed to let young children experience dance and related art forms on many levels. Each week the dancers will explore different dance styles within the context of that week’s theme. Each week concludes with an informal mini-performance for family and friends.

August 4-9 // The Four Seasons - Session Full
Using Vivaldi's exciting score for inspiration, campers will explore how movement, music and the visual arts combine to create
dance. Springtime flowers, the bugs of summer and leaves and snowflakes will all come to life in this fun-filled camp.
August 11-15 // Storybook Ballet Characters - Session Full
Learn all about the different storybook characters that inhabit many of ballet's favorite classics. From Red Riding Hood to Puss'n Boots, Cinderella to Peter and the Wolf, campers will get a chance to learn some of the steps and other elements that go into creating these fun characters on stage.
