Creative Movement (ages 3-5)

Creative Movement classes are for children ages 3-5.  Classes meet one time per week for 45 minutes.

• Creative Movement 1 is open to children who have turned 3 by September 1, 2010.
• Creative Movement 2 is open to children who have turned 4 by September 1, 2010.
• Creative Movement 3 is open to 5 year olds who prefer a creative dance class rather than the Pre-Ballet option for 5-year-olds.

The Creative Movement syllabus is designed by Joan Wolfe and utilizes original music composed specifically for each class by her husband and composer, Bill Wolfe. Classes are narrative in nature as students are led through a series of movement stories and ballet-based activities that appeal to both girls and boys alike. The creative play in each story enhances the development of fine and gross motor skills as they balance, skip, leap, coordinate, isolate and move to the music. Social skills are also developed through collaborative and cooperative games.

Inherent in this program is Ms. Wolfe’s extensive knowledge of early childhood development and philosophy of adult/child interaction. The curriculum is designed to gently introduce the youngest students to a structured and safe classroom environment, while instilling the physical and emotional confidence to explore and create.

All Ballet Austin faculty teaching Creative Movement are trained by Joan Wolfe.

Dress Code

Girls: Pale Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes. If possible, hair should be up or pulled back away from the face.

Boys: White short sleeve leotard or fitted T-shirt, black footed tights with no socks or black shorts with white socks, black ballet shoes.

2010/11 Class Schedule
Children should be enrolled based upon their age as of September 1, 2010.
Creative Movement Classes meet one time per week.

The 2010/11 school year begins September 7, 2010.

* If paid in full by August 26, 2010.

**Installment Plan: Tuition can be paid in installments with first payment of $84.00 (non-refundable deposit) due at registration. The remaining balance of $672.00 can then be paid in 8 installments through May 1, 2011. A late fee of $15.00 will be assessed on the fifth of each month in which payment is delinquent.

Students enrolling after the start of the school year will be prorated accordingly.
