Creative Ballet (ages 3-4)
Creative Ballet classes are for children ages 3-4. Classes meet one time per week for 45 minutes.
- Creative Ballet 1 is open to children who have turned 3 by September 1, 2014.
- Creative Ballet 2 is open to children who have turned 4 by September 1, 2014.
The Creative Ballet syllabus is designed by Joan Wolfe and utilizes original music composed by Bill Wolfe.
Inherent in this program is Ms. Wolfe’s extensive knowledge of early childhood development and philosophy of adult/child interaction. The curriculum is designed to gently introduce the youngest students to a structured and safe classroom environment, while instilling the physical and emotional confidence to explore and create.
Classes are narrative in nature as students are led through a series of movement stories and ballet-based activities that appeal to both girls and boys alike. The creative movement in each story enhances the development of fine and gross motor skills as they balance, skip, leap, coordinate, isolate and move to the music. Social skills are also developed through collaborative and cooperative games.
At the end of the year, Creative Ballet students participate in In-studio Spring Presentations during regular class time.
All Ballet Austin faculty teaching Creative Ballet are trained by Joan Wolfe.
Parents are asked to remain onsight during their child's Creative Ballet class.
