Summer Intensive Program Description

Ballet Austin's Junior Summer Intensive program offers one 2-week session of study for serious students ages 9-13. The curriculum of the Junior Intensive is specifically designed with the younger student in mind and is presented in an environment that is positive and nurturing. The Jr. Intensive is a rigorous and comprehensive program that provides the young dancer a greater grasp of ballet technique and related dance styles.

The Junior Intensive meets Monday through Friday for two weeks and is a half-day program.

Students accepted into the Junior Intensive receive their placement into level 1 or level 2 in their letter of acceptance.

DVD Auditions
If you are unable to audition for the Summer Intensive Program in person, you may audition by DVD. The DVD should consist of a sampling of barre work and center practice including adagio, pirouettes, petite and grand allegro and pointe work. The length should be approximately 15 minutes. A full body photograph of you in dance attire, in any position, is also required along with the $35.00 application fee. All DVD auditions must be accompanied by the audition form below.

Financial Aid
A limited amount of financial aid is available to Junior Intensive students. After you have auditioned and been accepted, you may contact Vicki Parsons for information.
