Before taking Pilates classes at Ballet Austin, we require that ALL clients (no matter what level) take either an Initial Private Session or a Beginner Mat class before continuing.

POTENTIAL PILATES CLASSES
Classes will be added to the schedule once groups of four or more have been meeting on a regular basis.

BEGINNER MAT CLASS (For those who are not yet experienced in the authentic Pilates system)
Beginner mat focuses on the basic principles at work in Joseph Pilates' system; abdominal control, breathing, concentration, centering, precision, posture and basic body awareness are emphasized. Arm weights and wall exercises may all be included.

INTERMEDIATE MAT CLASS (For those who are experienced in the authentic Pilates system and are able to exercise body control)
Once you have mastered the basic principles of the beginner Mat moving to an intermediate or advanced level is simply a matter of applying what you have learned to a more challenging set of exercises. The pace of this Mat class is more dynamic and the emphasis is on fluidity of movement. Exercises adapted from the apparatus, arm weights, magic circle, and wall exercises may all be included.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED MAT CLASS (For those who are super-fit and looking for a challenge. Must have working knowledge of the full Intermediate mat).
Intermediate/Advanced Mat is designed to challenge those who have mastered the intermediate class and are looking for some new moves to add to their repertoire. Emphasis on muscle control and strength.

MAGIC CIRCLE MAT CLASS (40 min.)
The Magic Circle Mat uses the resistance ring throughout the exercises to challenge your strength and stability. The Magic Circle intensifies the effort and effectiveness of the workout by helping to hone your form and dig deeper into the Powerhouse!
Some standing work with the Circle may also be introduced for balance and control. Please join at your appropriate level.

PRENATAL CLASS
Prenatal Pilates is a 55 minute class designed to promote good posture and spinal alignment, easing the strain and tensions involved with a changing body during pregnancy. Taught by Vlada Sheber, Pilates Program Director & Certified Core Connections ® Pilates Instructor, the class will teach the basic principles of Pilates with modifications to accommodate all stages of pregnancy and levels of fitness.

CARDIO CLASS (40 min.)
This class is designed to increase heart rate and burn calories utilizing mini-trampolines, hip hop and african dance movements and Advanced Mat exercises.

MAT TOWER SERIES (Limit of 7 people)
One of our favorites! Tower Class utilizes the wall units (or Towers) to bring some of the vastly popular Cadillac exercises to life in a group class setting. The springs of the Tower help to articulate, stretch and stabilize your spine. The tower workout requires a greater level of control and provides deeper flexibility than some are able to achieve on their own. You must be familiar with Tower/Cadillac terminology and exercises to join this class.

REFORMER CLASS SERIES (Limit of 6 people)
Beginner, Intermediate, Inter/Advanced - Join at your appropriate level!
This dynamic 30-40 minute class is what Pilates is all about! A wonderful way to supplement your private session workouts at group class rates. Hone your reformer rhythm and exercise transitions to create fluid "minimum of motion" workouts. Find out just how Cardiovascular Pilates really is!

SUPER STRETCH MAT SERIES
Super-Stretch Mat Class? Never too much of a good thing! (Especially great for men!)
Are you extremely tight, or do you just like a little extra stretch in your workout? This class begins with some gentle stretching before the Pilates Mat work* and continues increasing your stretch throughout the workout. Super-Stretch Mat Class ends with very deep flexibility work to leave you feeling elastic and loose all over.
*Join this class at your current mat class level.

All purchases are non-refundable.

•  6 Week Series are valid only for the specified dates of the Series because of the discounted price. (It is cheaper to buy the 6 Week series than to pay for 5 individual classes. PLUS your spot is guaranteed in class).

•  Spaces are only guaranteed in series classes if you have purchased the Six Week Series.

•  Space is limited in all Group Classes, so please call ahead before attending class.
