The Long Center

Parking and Directions for The Long Center, 701 W Riverside Dr

The primary parking structure for patrons of The Long Center is the City of Austin’s Palmer Events Center (PEC) Garage. It is a multi-level garage located to the left (east) and behind of The Long Center. This structure has two entrances- South Entrance on Barton Springs Road and North Entrance on Riverside Drive. The cost is $7.00, collected upon entry into the garage.

FREE parking is available in the parking lot of One Texas Center, at the southeast corner of S. 1st Street and Barton Springs Road. This lot has two entrances, west entrance on S. 1st Street and north entrance on Barton Springs Road.

Paid valet parking is available for $18.00 per car. To access valet parking, please use the left lane of the first Long Center entrance off of Riverside Drive.

Driving Directions

From I-35

• Take the Cesar Chavez Street exit and head west on E Cesar Chavez to Congress Avenue. Turn left on Congress Avenue and then right at the first signal onto Barton Springs. You can then continue on Barton Springs to the South Garage Entry or turn right onto Riverside and go through the South First signal, down and around the round-about to the drop off area and/or the North Garage Entry. • Take the Cesar Chavez St exit and head East on Cesar Chavez St to S 1st St. Turn right on S 1st St. Turn right onto Riverside Dr, continue down and around the round-about to the drop off area and/or the North Garage Entry, or continue on S 1st to Barton Springs Rd and take a right at the signal to access the South Garage Entry. *The Palmer Events Center garage has 24 accessible/handicapped parking spaces located closest to the elevators on each level. Patrons may also enter the valet line through the first entrance to The Long Center off of Riverside Drive and pull up to the curb to drop off at the main entrance. Elevator access is available through the entry level lobby door next to the Box Office. Staff will be available to direct you should you need assistance.

Entering the Long Center from the Palmer Events Center Garage

On Levels 2, 3 & 4 proceed to the elevators located on each level at the far left north side of garage (pedestrian directional signs will guide you) and go down to Level 1/Ground Floor, exit carefully through the garage entrance to your left and proceed to the walkway around The Keller Williams Circular Drive and into the Entry Level Lobby.  Proceed up the Grand Staircase to the City Terrace/Orchestra Level Lobby of Michael & Susan Dell Hall.

Parking & Directions for the AustinVentures StudioTheater at Ballet Austin's Butler Dance Education Center

How to Get to the AustinVentures StudioTheater:

• If you are on Mopac (Loop 1), exit Cesar Chavez Street stay to the right at the fork, and continue east on Cesar Chavez. From Cesar Chavez Street, turn left on San Antonio and proceed to 3rd and San Antonio.
• If coming from IH 35 take the Cesar Chavez exit and proceed west to San Antonio. Turn right on San Antonio and proceed to 3rd and San Antonio.

Parking at the AustinVentures StudioTheater at Ballet Austin’s Dance Education Center:

• Limited Parking can be found on both the east and west sides of the building (3^rd and San Antonio & 3^rd and Nueces) and along the back side of the building.

• Handicapped parking is very limited.  Those with handicapped patrons can drop them off at the entrance.

  State Parking Garage located on San Antonio directly across the street from the Butler Dance Education Center will offer a flat rate of $3 to Ballet Austin patrons Monday through Friday, 5:00pm to 10:00pm. It is closed to the public during normal State business hours. You can pick up parking passes from the Ballet Austin Reception desk.

 Classified Parking Lot located catty corner to the Butler Dance Education Center.  Cost: $6  

State Parking Garage located at 4^th & Guadalupe, under the Hobby Building.  Entrance is on Guadalupe.  Cost $5

We are located on the corner of 3rd St. and San Antonio St.  Free 15 minute parking is available directly in front of our building and metered parking is available on the street.  For more details read below.

The Butler Dance Education Center is located on the corner of 3^rd and San Antonio in the growing downtown area.  Downtown Austin is easy to get to and easy to get around in once you're here.  

• If you're on Mopac (Loop 1), exit at 5th or 1st Streets and head east.  Turn onto San Antonio Street and proceed to 3^rd and San Antonio.  The student drop-off is located in front of Ballet Austin on 3^rd Street.  From 5^th Street you can also turn south on Nueces and proceed to 3^rd Street.

• If coming from North IH 35 take the 6^th Street exit and proceed west to San Antonio.  Turn left on San Antonio and proceed to 3^rd and San Antonio.

• If coming from South IH 35 take the Cesar Chavez (1^st Street) exit and proceed west.  You will be directed to 2^nd Street, continue west to San Antonio and proceed to 3^rd and San Antonio.

PARKING AT BALLET AUSTIN'S BUTLER DANCE EDUCATION CENTER:

Ballet Austin is in a downtown location. Parking is limited and may not always be available on site.

• Limited parking in the Ballet Austin lots on both the east and west sides of the building (3^rd and San Antonio and 3^rd and Nueces) and along the back side of the building.

• These lots are reserved for any Ballet Austin student or patron who will be remaining in the Butler Dance Education Center, but we can not guarantee available space.

•  Please do not park in the handicapped parking spaces.

CURBSIDE PARKING:

Marked metered spaces are located on San Antonio, Nueces, 3^rd and 4^th streets, as well as other nearby streets.

PARKING AT CITY HALL FREE:

Ballet Austin validates parking in the parking garage underneath Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street. The garage entrance to the City Hall parking garage is located on the East side of the building on Lavaca Street (one way street running North). Enter the garage from the left lane and follow the signs to visitor parking.

• Weekdays - Up to 2 hours can be validated at Ballet Austin on weekdays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Stop at the desk in the front lobby at Ballet Austin for parking validation.

• Free parking without validation is available on Saturdays and Sundays until 5:00 pm. (After 5:00 pm on weekends the flat rate is $5.00)

PAID GARAGE AND SURFACE PARKING LOTS NEAR BALLET AUSTIN'S BUTLER DANCE EDUCATION CENTER:

There are several downtown area lots and garages where the public can pay to park when visiting the downtown area. The State garage on San Antonio between 3^rd and 4^th is closed to the public during normal State business hours. The garage will charge $5.00 when open for event parking.

•  City Hall Garage is open for public use every day from 5:45 a.m. to 1 a.m. and offers paid public parking to the public in the evenings after 5:00 pm (Ballet Austin validates during daytime hours. See above) After 5:00 pm on weekdays when validation is not in effect, the first 30 minutes is free and then there is an hourly rate.

• AMLI on 2^ND garage is open for public parking, entering the garage on San Antonio Street between 2^nd and 3^rd. There is a posted flat rate to park during the day or evening,

• AMLI Downtown garage at 201 Lavaca Street is open for public parking at a flat rate during the day or evening.

BUSES:

Austin's Central Business District has access to the best bus service in Central Texas. Most individual rides are $1.00 (bus drivers cannot make change). You can find more information on fares and passes, including bulk and unlimited ride rates, by visiting the Capital Metro website.

You can purchase monthly passes and fare cards, and pick up free bus schedules and route maps at the Capital Metro Transit Store, located at 323 Congress Ave. Schedules are also available online at www.capmetro.org .
