Priority Seating Plan

The Reason We Need a Priority Seating Plan

Overview
In the next few years, Ballet Austin will leave Bass Concert Hall on The University of Texas campus, and begin performing at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts.

One of the many benefits of moving to The Long Center is the opportunity to perform in three (3) venues, the largest of which is the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation Hall with a capacity to seat 2,310 individuals (current capacity at Bass Concert Hall is 2,926).

The floor at Bass Concert Hall seats approximately 1,600 while the floor in the more intimate space of the Long Center's largest venue, the Dell Hall, will accommodate approximately 900 seats. Currently, most Ballet Austin season ticket holders are seated on the floor at Bass Concert Hall, so it is critical for you to Keep Your Seats as we begin building the priority seating plan.

All subscribers will be reseated in The Long Center. However, because we are going to a smaller venue and the number of our subscribers continues to grow each year, seats will be more difficult to secure.

Below are the factors that we will consider in setting the priority to seat all subscribers at The Long Center:

1. Season Subscriptions

The number of continuous years you have subscribed since the 2001-2002 season will be used in determining your priority. REMEMBER, IT ALL BEGAN WITH KEEPING YOUR SEATS IN 2001. Any lapse in subscription from the 2001-2002 season until we move into the Long Center will reduce your priority. The 2001-2002 season was chosen as our Founding Subscriber Season. Your length of tenure as a subscriber prior to the 2001-2002 season will also be a considering factor.

Your subscription level will also be considered to determine your priority seating. For example, a full series subscriber will have more priority than a four show subscriber; a four show subscriber more than a Children's Series subscriber.

Your Long Center priority will be determined in the final season at Bass Concert Hall. The number of tickets you hold by that final season is the number of tickets for which you will receive priority at The Long Center in the inaugural season.

2. Gifts to Ballet Austin

The level of contributed support to Ballet Austin will be considered when calculating your priority. Ballet Austin patrons who have made a gift each season since the 2001-2002 season will receive additional priority.

3. Gifts to The Long Center

A gift to The Long Center Capital Campaign will receive additional priority.

4. Enrollment in Ballet Austin's Academy

Additional consideration will be given to subscribers who are customers of the Ballet Austin Academy.

5. Volunteer Support

Volunteer support to Ballet Austin will be considered when calculating your priority. There are many ways to become involved with Ballet Austin including special support groups and speakers bureaus. If you are interested in joining the Ballet Austin family, please contact us at 512.476.9151.

Please contact Sandra Krempasky in Subscriber Services, if you have questions or concerns as we make this move.
