BEGINNING HULA
If you've never taken hula before, this is the class for you! Experience a culture that is full of beauty and exciting adventure! The hula classes include dances in the ancient form of hula (hula kahiko) as well as the more contemporary form of hula (hula 'auana). Hawaiian history and culture are also discussed as they relate to each hula learned in class. Expect to be challenged and to get a great workout in every class. Hula is for fun, for fitness, and for life!

CONTINUING HULA
If you've already taken Hula for Beginners, or just want to brush up on your hula skills, this is the class for you! Each lesson builds upon the one that came before it. Continue to perfect your skills in the hula basics, and learn more choreography.
Continuing Hula classes include dances in the ancient form of hula (hula kahiko) as well as the more contemporary form of hula (hula 'auana). Hawaiian history and culture are also discussed as they relate to each hula learned in class. All classes are conducted in a positive and respectful atmosphere that allows for individual variance in learning and mastery. Expect to be challenged and to get a great workout in every class. CROSS TRAINING BOOT CAMP
For the lower impact fitness enthusiast - A Low Impact, “No Excuses” Fitness Boot Camp. Jumpstart your day with an early morning conditioning program!
Sometimes getting out of the bed is the hardest thing about an early morning workout. But once you commit, and begin doing it regularly, Cross Training Boot Camp will give you the workout you’ve been looking for. Cross Training is designed to meet the needs of participants looking for a good, but low impact, moderate workout. This course is not intended for the extreme athlete, but extreme athletes are certainly welcome.
Cross Training provides a low to moderate impact workout for those looking to improve their level of fitness. Knee and back friendly, but still a great way to condition different muscle groups, develop a new set of skills, and vary the stress placed on specific muscles or your cardiovascular system.
Many principles of Pilates are taught to provide great core strengthening. A supportive and motivational class, this boot camp is for everyone, regardless of experience and fitness level. WAKE UP and make Cross Training part of YOUR fitness program!

INTRODUCTION TO INTEGRATED MOVEMENT AND VOICE
An exhilarating new method for building expressive skills in an atmosphere of real play! People express themselves through movement and voice every day. Have you ever wished you could walk into a room with more confidence or give a speech without worrying about your vocal presentation? Whether you are an actor performing before an audience or teacher in front of a classroom, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively is a huge asset. This invigorating class is made up of two parts:

Voice and Body Exercises - free flowing, momentous and non-intimidating (movement portion based on the modern dance technique of Erick Hawkins)

Physical Improvisations - fun and liberating way to break out of stale patterns of expression and celebrate the sensations that accompany sound and movement.
This introductory course will expose students of any level to both aspects of the technique in an atmosphere that promotes a sense of play while simultaneously building skills.

MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP
Directed by Danny Herman and Rocker Verastique
Sing, Dance, hone your craft! This Fall/Winter workshop will focus on preparing for the stage and will culminate in three workshop performances in Ballet Austin’s AustinVentures StudioTheater on December 11th, 12th and 13th.
Magic in Manhattan
The dazzling lights of Times Square, the music at Radio City Music Hall and the brightly decorated windows at Macy’s… Material from some of Broadway’s most beloved musicals will be combined with holiday favorites to make for a fun and memorable performance experience.
The Musical Theatre Performance Workshop will offer…
- The chance to learn choreography from Broadway veterans and master instructors, Danny Herman & Rocker Verastique
- Classes divided into three age groups; ages 8-10, 11-13 and 14-Adult
- Live musical accompaniment for classes, rehearsals and performances
- All classes/rehearsals held at Ballet Austin's Butler Dance Education Center
- PERFORM! All performances produced in the state-of-the-art AustinVentures StudioTheater with full stage lights and sound
Danny Herman is an internationally recognized director, choreographer, actor and teacher. Mr. Herman appeared in the original Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of CONTACT, and was Mike Costa on Broadway in A CHORUS LINE. More...
Rocker Verastique appeared in the original Broadway companies of CONTACT, CHICAGO, VICTOR/VICTORIA and CAROUSEL. Mr. Verastique's other Broadway credits include Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera and Ziegfeld Follies of 1936. More...
Kids (ages 8-10) - One 12-week session
*No additional performance or costume fee will be charged.
This fun-filled hour will introduce our youngest aspiring performers to the exciting world of musical theatre. No previous experience required.
Youth (ages 11-13) - One 12-week session
*No additional performance or costume fee will be charged.
This age group will delve a little more deeply into the process of putting on a show. Choreography will be a little more refined and expectations will be higher, but the high-energy hour and a half will fly by! No previous experience required.
Teens/Adults (ages 14 & older) - One 13-week session
*No additional performance or costume fee will be charged.
This group will sing, dance and act up a storm. Be an important part of the process of creating a new musical. Danny and Rocker, Broadway veterans with decades of experience between them, will push you to the limit…and you’ll have the time of your life! No previous experience required.

PILATES MAT COURSES
Want Slender Thighs and a Flat Abdomen? Take Pilates! The mat exercises are adaptable to any fitness level, and it is a great place to begin Pilates by focusing on learning the basics. Pilates Mat classes are done on the floor with a minimum of equipment. Pilates mats and there-bands are provided. The mat exercises will help you quickly gain strength and confidence in the Pilates method.
Pilates mat classes offer a refreshing mind-body workout, while focusing on core stability, posture, lengthening and strengthening muscles. Exercises are performed in a very slow and controlled manner with similarities to yoga as the class incorporates relaxation and breathing techniques. Pilates increases flexibility, agility, builds strength and is a safe yet challenging workout. Results will be seen in 6 weeks!

PILATES PINK RIBBON COURSE
A Pilates-based, post-operative rehabilitative program designed by exercise physiologist and breast-cancer survivor Doreen Puglisi. This course offers strength, self-esteem and quality of life to breast cancer survivors. The Pink Ribbon Program will help stretch and strengthen the shoulder, chest, back, and abdominal muscles, allowing women to regain full range of motion to those areas affected by breast cancer surgery. This program is suitable whether your surgery was recent or several years ago and accommodates all fitness levels.

Taught by Vlada Sheber, Certified Pilates Instructor and Pilates Program Director.
Ms. Sheber is a Post-Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist.

PRENATAL YOGA COURSE
Discover the physical and mental benefits of yoga during pregnancy. This 6-week Prenatal Yoga Course Offering is a wonderful way to find joy and ease in both body and mind as you move through the transformative process of pregnancy. These classes can be a wonderful way to put time aside for yourself and your baby while providing a gentle, safe yoga practice for you. Prenatal yoga has proven to be beneficial for mothers-to-be as they prepare for labor, birth, and recovery. This class will encourage strength, flexibility, focus, centering breath, and calming movement. All levels of yoga experience, and all trimesters of pregnancy welcome.

THERA-BAND® STRETCH & TONE
A Pilates-based resistance band workout
that will change your body and your life!
A great morning stretch class to help tone, strengthen muscles, improve posture, and reduce stress. Thera-bands® are used in class and specific instructions are given so that you can continue your workout at home or when you travel. Thera-bands® are exercise bands which have been proven effective for flexibility workouts that will increase the core strength of the body. Regular workouts will improve circulation in the body, prevent injury, and improve overall performance level.
Thera-band® Stretch & Tone will challenge you, improve your strength, and allow you to stretch away any tension in your week. All ability levels welcome.

When is the best time of day to get your cardio? The answer is any time! The most important thing is that you just do it. However, if you want to get the maximum benefits possible from every minute you work out, then you should get up early and do your cardio before you eat your first meal - even if you're not a "morning person."
Ultimate Cardio Boot Camp will get you moving at the beginning of the day. A super-concentrated workout that takes only 45 minutes, but will give you the jumpstart you need. Begin with a stretch, add in the cardio and strengthening exercises, and relax before heading into your daily routine - A perfect combination to keep you fit and healthy, all packed into 45 minutes. It will be the motivation you need to keep exercising the rest of the week!

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS
Yoga is a great way to get in shape and rid your mind and body of unnecessary stress. There are so many myths that exist about yoga. Some think extreme flexibility or strength is required. Some don’t think it’s an exercise class at all. Yoga may appear mysterious to you. Because yoga may be an unknown, you may be missing what could be the greatest benefit to your workout. Yoga Fundamentals is the class for you. It will provide clear instructions customized to the needs and abilities of each student.
This 6-week course offering is perfect for the both the beginner and advanced beginner yogis and yoginis. Whether your down dog needs a tune up or you're ready to try a handstand, you will see improvements in your confidence and yoga practice. In this course you will learn a variety of yoga poses, class etiquette, proper alignment, basic anatomy, and pranayama (breath work).
