The job site is crazy with activity.
The construction supervisor told me with great enthusiasm today that every type of workperson is busy on the BDEC site – carpenters, steel workers, electricians, plumbers, ductwork specialists.
Monday is going to be a very big day—a crane will be brought in and the beams pictured here will be lifted onto the top of the AustinVentures StudioTheatre -- then the crossties will be welded in. That will change the whole shape of the building.
As you walk through the back part of the BDEC, it is a mass of steel framework and there are workers everywhere putting their backs into their jobs.
I will try to get down there on Monday and take shots of the crane lifting the beams into place.
These beams will support the superstructure of the roof on the AustinVentures StudioTheatre. A crane will be brought in Monday to put them in place.

These cross beams will be joined with the two largest beams to form the roof of the AustinVentures StudioTheatre. They are being stored on the floor of the Ballet Austin Armstrong/Connelly Studio.
This steel work will be the facing for the entry to the Ballet Austin Academy on 3rd Street.
