Sheetrock going up—the BDEC is really taking shape!
As promised, the sheetrock is going up all over the building and the AustinVentures StudioTheatre is really looking like a big performance space. The construction site is crawling with activity. Now as you walk through the BDEC, you get a feel of how the rooms relate to each other and what the interior of the building is going to look like when it’s done.
Work crews of all types are going full blast and we’ve been very lucky with weather, too.

Two shots of the AustinVentures StudioTheatre. The first is from the entrance looking back towards the interior. The second is from above.

Here are two shots of the Armstrong-Connelly Studio. The first is looking from the overhead hallway down to the northside. As we have pointed out before, the space at the top of the shot between the vertical beam and the edge of the white wall will be the main northside entrance for Academy students.
For the second shot, I went downstairs and shot back up towards the second level hallway where I was standing for the first photo. As you can see, Academy students will get a good look at the apprentices rehearsing in the Armstrong-Connelly Studio when they pass by upstairs.

Our future board room takes shape.

This shot of the BDEC’s north face and the Amli Building to the east in the background gives you an idea about how our new building will fit into the downtown scene. |
