Progress on all fronts – the Butler Dance Education Center
Construction Superintendent Steve Frinz says that his crews are working six days a week at this point and they will go to seven days in April and May. There are crews on site working staggered shifts from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturday now. The finish line is in sight!

Here is a good look at the north face of the center. That open area will be all glass.

Four cherry pickers were working as crews installed the air conditioning vents in the AustinVentures StudioTheatre.

An overview of the Armstrong/Connelly Studio. The open space you see on the outer wall will be glass when all is done. In fact, Construction Superintendent Steve Frinz says the glass will be installed very soon.

The AdlerLand Studio is really shaping up.

This little room looks plain now, but in a few months, it will be the IT heart of the Ballet Austin operation. This is where the computer server will reside.

Didn’t I tell you there were guys working all over the place? (Note the shoes.) This worker is installing insulation above a duct.

Here we see the large trench being dug for the tie-in to the chilled water line for the BDEC’s air conditioning. A pipe has already been laid in a core trench dug north to the chilled water station across the street. Steve says that the pipe to fill this trench and make the final tie-in for the BDEC will be laid early next week.

Additional excavation is happening in the front parking lot. This trench will hold the sanitary sewer line.
