Windows On Our World.

A group of donors and Ballet Austin Board members took a tour of the BDEC on Thursday and got a look at the progress. (The AustinVentures StudioTheatre is coming along beautifully as well, but the lighting was too dark when we were in there for me to take a worthwhile photo.) Ballet Austin Executive Director Cookie Ruiz gave a masterful description about the entire 34,174 square foot facility. It looks like taping and floating is happening on almost every wall in the BDEC and some actually have final surfacing.

Here is a ground floor view of the Armstrong/Connelly Studio showing the mullions that have been installed for the glass insertion. Now you get a feel for how the world will perceive the dancing that will be happening inside the BDEC.

Here is an overhead view of the Armstrong/Connelly Studio looking back out onto Third Street.

Executive Director Cookie Ruiz tells how the Community Dance Studio on the upper level will be used by Ballet Austin for a variety of dance and exercise purposes.

This shot shows the progress on the air conditioning ducts in the AdlerLand Studio.
