The Finish Line Is Near!

The progress on the Butler Dance Education Center is stunning, to say the least.

Many of the walls are finished out, all the studios -- downstairs and upstairs -- are looking like the real thing now, and excitement is in the air.

Here is the northside view with the Armstrong-Connelly Studio front and center.

A closer view of the entryway.

The Armstrong-Connelly Studio from inside looking back out onto Third Street.

At the time I arrived, they were having a mass meeting of all the work force, so I wasn’t able to get inside the AustinVentures StudioTheatre and take any shots. (It would have been distracting.) But this gives you an idea of what it will look like with people in it.

This is a shot of the AdlerLand Studio from above. The glass is in all the upper windows now, so this shot isn’t as clear as it could be, since I got reflection of the flash. But you can see what a magnificent space it is.

A quarter turn to the right and you see the other side of the hall between the AustinVentures StudioTheatre and the Armstrong-Connelly Studio.

Remember the old board room? Now it is almost ready to go as one of the upstairs studios.

The view through the glass of the new Community Board Room.

The 360 Condominiums, our neighbor to the northwest.

The Amli Building across the street to the east. The neighborhood is shaping up!
