The latest is that the crews have finished taking down the red iron structure in the back of the BDEC where the concrete walls will go. They are now bringing in the drilling rig which will dig the 33 foot shafts for the piers that will support the mezzanine. Soon, the pier drilling will be done and the construction team will be ready for “pour back” on the columns after that.
The workers are also starting on the installation of underground utilities.
According to construction management, most of the needed removal of the existing structural features has been done. It is significant to note that virtually all of the removed material—iron, insulation, and so on – will be recycled and reused in other projects.
