Food for the Soul Collaborator:

Through the support of BlueCross BlueShield of Texas, Freescale Semiconductor and the Seawell Elam Foundation, Ballet Austin welcomes central Texas non-profit and social service agencies and their clients to join us for Ballet Austin's final dress rehearsal of each production. Children, adults and friends of those in need join us and experience a full ballet production. Each year, we invite approximately 10,000 guests to attend these performances at no charge. Who attends Ballet Austin's Night of Community?

Through a special collaboration with the Capital Area Food Bank, we host two special evenings called "Food for the Soul." Through this joint project, Ballet Austin and Capital Area Food Bank welcome children and their families, all united by a common struggle with hunger, to see one of our productions. Capital Area Food Bank provides refreshment for the guests, and volunteers from the Food Bank, National Charity League, and other organizations serve refreshments at intermission.

Ballet Austin's Night of Community illustrates how non-profit agencies, volunteers, the business community and the arts can partner to benefit the entire Austin community. How has Night of Community impacted Austin and surrounding communities?
