The New York City High School of Performing Arts is a place where gifted teenagers go in hopes of achieving fame. This film tracks a group of eager students from their early auditions through their senior year at this prestigious academy. Each has their own struggle with the pressures of growing up as an inner-city youth in New York. Fame is a musical full of energy and atmosphere that gives us a glimpse of American teen life through eyes of hopeful singers, dancers, actors, and musicians.

The Company
June 26 | 3pm

Through a tale composed of true accounts, Director Robert Altman ("M.A.S.H.", "The Player) brings us an intimate look at the intense lives of ballet performers at the Chicago Ballet Company. Allowing freedom from tightly scripted dialogue, Altman elicits genuine performances from his cast.

This, along with the plot comprised from real-life stories, gives "The Company" such an authenticity as it reveals to us the lives of those who endure the pressures of ballet and performance art.

Tickets include participation in our Ballet Fit class following the show.
