Tickets Given to Nonprofit Organizations
By Barbara Shack, Executive Administrator

One of the things we enjoy at Ballet Austin is helping our nonprofit partners in the community reach their goals through a team of my colleagues at Ballet Austin that consider and process the many donation requests that come to us from the community each month.  The Donation Request Team, Sandra Krempasky, Vicki Parsons, Pei-San Brown and I, review all requests and make sure that we do all we can do to help.

So far this season (6 months)  Ballet Austin has made gifts of 110 performance tickets and 52 Butler Community School class cards helping to raise more that $5,500 for more than 50 nonprofit organizations.  The Butler Community School and Academy have also contributed one free session to our summer camp and a free entry to our Musical Theater Performance Workshop.

A few of the benefiting non-profit organizations are Muscular Dystrophy Association, Center for Child Protection, SafePlace, Breast Cancer Research Centers, AIDS Services of Austin, and Habitat for Humanity.   I frequently hear that our tickets and cards are some of the most hotly contested items in the silent auctions.
