Fête ‘09 at The Austonian
By Christi Cuellar, Development Director

Ballet Austin’s annual and anticipated Fête, recognized as the beginning of the Austin social season by The Wall Street Journal, returns as Fête ’09 at The Austonian along with Fête*ish. Taking expectations to new heights atop the near-completed Austonian building on Congress Avenue, patrons are invited to rub elbows and spread their wings at both the gala and the decidedly “bawdier” Fête*ish companion event.

The affair will “Take Flight” in tribute to the Company’s October 2‑4 Season Opener, which includes Act II of Swan Lake and The Firebird by Stravinksy—as choreographed by artistic director Stephen Mills. Through the collaboration of Ballet Austin and The Austonian, Fête ’09 guests will soar 280 feet up into the city’s tallest structure for unmatched bird’s eye views of Austin and dinner in the glassed-in 28th floor.

Act Two of the evening will take guests from the 28th to the 10th floor for sassy, sultry, and some surprises. Fête*ish will evoke Cabaret and Moulin Rouge from chocolate to shoes, from martinis to jewels. Ballet Austin’s only yearly fundraiser promises to indulge guests in a remarkable evening of celebration in support of its scholarships, education, programs, and full-time artists.

Arts patron and top attorney Becky Beaver is the Fête ’09 at The Austonian chair and tables of ten are now available starting at $5000 (priced $250/couple less than last year’s event). For more information on Fête ‘09, click here, or contact Brooke Rogers 512.476.9151 ext. 134 or
